One of the few venues in the UK, which is dedicated exclusively to producing and presenting high quality theatre for young audiences, the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, is a truly unique venue. Since its doors opened in 1979, the theatre has offered children a first taste of the thrilling, challenging and inspiring world of theatre.
Polka aims to stimulate young people's passion for theatre by providing them with the widest possible range of theatre experience: from the moving teenage drama of Hey There, Boy with the Bebop; the gentle comedy of Home from Home; modern-day literary adaptations, such as Jacqueline Wilson's Double Act; and experimental theatre, such as the groundbreaking installation performance Best Behaviour.
At Polka, there's space to play, to laugh, to discover, to create with something for all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. It's a magical place where you can steal a rare moment to share with your children. No two visits are the same you'll soon see why Polka is where theatre begins!
