Once a traditional rural shire, Nebo is experiencing significant regional growth with eight operational coal mines, following the addition of Hail Creek, Moorvale and Millenium mines. In addition, Nebo Shire has capacity for a further five coal mines.

Rural interests based on Cattle Grazing and Agricultural crops including Sugar, Sorghum and Grain, together with Business and economic growth and development within the Shire is unprecedented.

Continuing shire investment is expected to be maintained in line with expanding operations of the coal mines and the support services they require.
