House of the Binns

The House of the Binns is located in West Lothian, ideally situated between the beautiful cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. The house is home to one of Scotland's oldest families, the Dalyells, who have lived here since 1612.

The fabulous house contains a fascinating collection of 17th to 20th Century furniture, porcelain and portraits revealing the family's lives and interests through the centuries. The house also reflects the 17th Century transition from a fortified stronghold to a large mansion.

Whilst visiting this wonderful house, you can take a beautiful woodland walk, which is carpeted with snowdrops and daffodils in the spring, through to a panoramic viewpoint over the Firth of Forth.
