Hailes Castle

Hailes Castle is a beautifully sited ruin incorporating a fortified manor of 13th-century date. The castle is located in central Scotland a mile and a half from East Linton. Within the castle there is so much to explore, from the vaulted kitchens to the fascinating chapel.

The castle is thought to contain some of the oldest standing stonework in the whole of Scotland and is so full of history it makes a day to remember. There are two vaulted pit-prisons and two ruins of towers, a detached stump, a length of curtain wall and much more to see.
