The National Museum of Flight is located in the heart of Scotland and was first opened to the public in 1975. The aeronautical collection dates back to 1909 when the Royal Scottish Museum acquired a model of the Wright Brothers Model A biplane. A collection of engines, models and parts was built up in the following years.

Discover the extraordinary story of our human ambition to take to the skies. The historic airfield is home to a collection of key aircraft that chronical the story of flight.

The aviation collections include aircraft, engines, rockets, photographs, a reference library, archives, models, flying clothing, instruments and propellers. East Fortune also played an important role as an airfield during two World Wars.
