City Tea Rooms

The City Tea Rooms is a long-established cafe in the centre of Sunderland, immediately opposite Joplings, the department store.

The cafe has a regular roster of faithful customers who have frequented it for many years, giving the place a friendly and congenial atmosphere and a charming difference compared to unfriendly fast-food places with their lack of personal service - we're not like that at all! The serving staff are also long-term employees of the business and will do their best to make sure you feel welcome and you are served with exactly the food and refreshments you desire.

We are open from 7am, serving cooked breakfasts cooked to order, and are open throughout the day up until 4pm, serving a variety of hot food, cold snacks, teas and coffees. Most cooked food is made on the premises each day, to ensure a satisfying 'home-cooked' taste and freshness.
