The Linen Hall Library is the oldest library in Belfast and the last subscribing library in Ireland, it is renowned for its unparalleled Irish and Local Studies Collection. The hall is a centre of cultural and creative life and also offers a variety of programme events.
The library was founded in 1788 and boasts the Northern Ireland Theatre and Performing Arts Archive, a truly unique collection reflecting our rich cultural heritage.
The Linen Hall Library offers an extensive range of fine prints, publications and gifts, internet access, coffee shop, free public reference use, extensive general lending collection, from bestsellers to classics and a city centre location.
