Get ready for this year's Port Douglas Carnivale, watch the community come alive and get what the locals call 'A Taste of Paradise'.

The first weekend is all about food and will be a delight for the foodies. with all the popular food events including Longest Lunch, Palates of Port, Food Wine and a Taste of Port and Seafood Extravaganza held over the one weekend.

This years parade is held on the second weekend and is themed Heavenly Bodies. Parade starts at 7pm. The kids amusement park is set up at the Sugar Wharf end of Macrossan Street offers old world fun fair atmosphere for the whole family!

2012 Port Douglas Carnivale will have a strong focus on cuisine, culture and sports. If you wish to volunteer or register a float please see website for all details.

Getting There: Cheap domestic flights to Carins are available from any major airport. It's just a 45 minute drive up the coast to Port Douglas. Shuttle services run from Cairns airport to meet every flight.
