Oakthwaite House is a Victorian town house only a five-minute walk from the Keswick town centre. We provide a high quality service and offer you a comfortable, relaxing, refreshing and enjoyable stay.

We have 4 tastefully decorated rooms, each with their own individual charm and character. Our two large en-suites also serve as family or twin rooms. In addition to these we have a standard double and single.

We use high quality bed linen and furnishings in all our rooms. Along with the usual compliments tray, which includes herbal teas, and bottled water, each room, has a CD clock radio and a TV/DVD. We also offer wireless broadband internet access in all rooms, subject to your laptop having a wireless card or adaptor. Oakthwaite House is a non-smoking establishment.

The location of our guesthouse in Keswick and in the Lake District National Park makes it an ideal base from which to explore and enjoy the many wonders of the northern Lakes.

Details

Location
Keswick is a vibrant town, both culturally and otherwise, and one of the most popular resorts in the Lake District. Keswick's unique location on the shores of Derwentwater lake, surrounded by the northern Lakeland fells, make it ideal for all types of visitors, from those seeking quiet enjoyment in the beauty of the landscape to those wanting a bit more out of its many offerings; e.g. walkers, climbers, photographers, mountain bikers and paragliders. At its heart is the Market Square and the famous Moot Hall, with its famous one-handed clock. Keswick is awash with festivals and events to interest and please most - the Jazz festival, the Film Festival, the Beer Festival, the Religious Convention and many more..
Getting There
From the M6 motorway take the A66 heading west towards Keswick. About 16 miles from the motorway, take the first exit into Keswick and head for the town centre. On your way, you will pass a BP garage on your left and soon after you will go under a railway bridge. Take the fourth turning on the left after the railway bridge, at the Conservative Club. This is Greta Street. Helvellyn Street is the second street running across Greta street. Turn left onto Helvellyn Street; Oakthwaite House is the third house on the left from the junction of Greta Street and Hellvellyn Street. If you do get lost, don't hesitate to give us a ring, and we will be pleased to help or come and find you.
