Branklyn Garden attracts gardeners and botanists from all over the world to see the outstanding collection of plants - rhododendrons, alpines, herbaceous and peat-garden plants.

This attractive garden in Perth was developed by John and Dorothy Renton with the help of seed collections from plant hunters such as Forrest, Ludlow and Sherriff. Branklyn is famed for its rhododendrons which provide riot of colour in springtime. Underneath the rhododendrons are spring flowering primulas and bulbous plants, such as the dog-tooth violet. While in the Rock Garden and scree there are alpine primulas, gentians and saxifrages. One of the most striking plants is the blue Himalayan poppy, Meconopsis.

Branklyn also holds National Collections of Cassiope and Lilium (Mylnefield lilies), and is developing a collection of Rhododendron taliense. The garden is open for visitors throughout the summer, autumn and spring (closed for winter).
