Buchanty Spout is a dramatic pothole and powerful waterfall on the River Almond. The Spout is one of the best locations in Perthshire for viewing leaping wild Atlantic salmon. In the late autumn the salmon fight their way up through the rushing water, to reach their spawning grounds upstream. Buchanty Spout offers a fantastic position to get a close view of the leaping salmon.

The Buchany Spout is located at Buchanty (off the B8063) approximately 8 miles/13km north of Crieff. A path leads from the small car park down to the falls. Please note: the rocks are slippery and care is required at all times.

The spout is well worth a visit at any time of the year, but especially in September or October when the wild salmon can be seen fighting their way upstream.
