Down Royal Racecourse has been open since the 17th century, and has brought the king of sports to generations of people in Ulster. The Down Royal Corporation of Horse breeders was founded in 1685 by Royal Charter from King James II, encourage horse breeding in the county of Down.

The racecourse has many great facilities including a public marquee, specialty food outlets, bookmaker's ring, public bar, VIP hospitality suite, a giant scree track side, champagne bar and a members, owners and trainers lounge to name but a few facilities.

Further Information
Normally races start in winter months at 1.00 - 1.30pm and during the summer months 2.30pm. Evening meetings start at 5.30pm - 6.00pm. There is normally a half hour interval between races and between six and seven races on the card.
