Exploris Aquarium

Exploris Aquarium is located in the conservation village of Portaferry and has been open since 1987, enabling the public to view the diverse creatures that are present around the Island. The aquarium, which is sited on the shores of the Marine Nature reserve, contains nearly three quarters of all marine species to be found in the Northern Irish waters.

Exploris Aquarium provides an educational and enjoyable experience through marine exhibits, a rolling programme of exhibitions and activities for people of all ages. There are many fantastic exhibits and things to see including the Open Sea Tank, the seal sanctuary, the Irish coast zone and take a memory home of your day from the Splash Out gift shop.
