Pentland Hills Icelandics offer off-road riding on beautiful Icelandic horses in some of Scotland's most spectacular Border countryside. The riding centre is located in Windy Gowl Farm, home to Britain's largest herd of Icelandic horses. The carefully selected breeding stock has been imported from Iceland and foals of this very special breed are born each year at Pentland Hills Icelandics.
A variety of rides are available - from one and a half to three hours, and sometimes longer. The Icelandic horses climb with amazing footsure ability. A delight to ride, the horses are keen and intelligent and show great stamina as they negotiate steep terrain.
Riding lessons for both beginners and experienced riders are also available most days. Please call to enquire about riding adventures or lessons as advance booking is essential.
