The Bate Collection of Musical Instruments

Located in Oxford, The Bate Collection of Musical Instruments celebrates the history and development of musical instruments of the Western Classical tradition from the medieval period until the present day.

The Collection is made available for study and judicious use by scholars, students, makers, and players, so as to enhance and increase the knowledge of the history of music as well as the enjoyment of historic performance for all.

The collection features historical woodwind, brass and percussion instruments; over a dozen historical keyboard instruments; a complete bow-maker's workshopand a collection of bows.
