The Hervey Bay Historical Village & Museum is a long-standing icon of Hervey Bays settlers, industrial and agricultural history. Opened in in 1974, the Museum comprised one building which was the first Public Hall at Dundowran and donated by the residents there.
Winners of the Fraser Coast & South Burnett Tourism Awards for Excellence in 2006,2007 & 2008, the Village is constantly being improved. Run by dedicated volunteers and workers and totally self funded, the Hervey Bay Historical Village & Museum has grown to encompass 18 buildings filled with over 8000 amazing exhibits.
All of these along with the buildings they stand in have been lovingly restored after their donation. Items range from the 1800s to present time and are the centrepiece of the annual picnic in the Museum gardens.
