Castell Coch

Castell Coch was built in the1870s and resembles a fairytale castle, it was built in two stages upon the remains of a genuine 13th century castle. The same architect that created Cardiff Castle, William Burges, created Castell Coch.

The castle stands on a platform commanding the gorge of the Taff and was protected towards the higher ground by a deep dry moat. This is a great place to visit with the whole family and provides some fantastic photo opportunities.
