Located in South Croydon, Purley Downs is a mature downland course, with a clubhouse that enjoys a scenic setting. In the warm weather you can relax on the terrace or veranda and enjoy the tranquillity and vista with a drink, lunch or both.
The course is a 6308-yard, par 70, SSS 70, downland layout, designed by JH Taylor in 1904. It is superbly situated some 500 feet above sea level with magnificent views over the whole of London.
The clubhouse has two well-stocked bars, selling a range of cask beers, keg beers, lagers and stout. The dining room enjoys a superb elevated location looking out over the 1st green and 18th fairway Adjacent to the lounge is the ballroom, t his room is used for a variety of purposes. Two full-size snooker tables are located on the first floor, as is the general office. The club also has two TV sets, one being a Plasma screen, which are linked to Sky Sports.
