The Cockermouth Tourist Information Centre provides information on what to see and do around the town. They also give out information on entertainments and events, places of interest, travel and transport, and where to stay.
It is situated within a splendid 19th century building, once a Wesleyan Chapel and is now the Town Hall. The Information Centre occupies the ground floor while the council chambers are on the floor above. The building is really light and spacious and has colourful displays of relevant information of interest to visitors.
The hall is generous in size and holds various exhibitions and demonstrations of work by local people.
