Set overlooking the River Tay, stands majestic Scone Palace- the ancient Crowning Place of the Kings and Queens of Scotland.

Fifteen hundred years ago, Scone Palace was the capital of the Pictish kingdom and the centre of the ancient Celtic church. The Palace has been immortalised in Shakespeare's Macbeth, and has housed the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronations of the Kings of Scotland.

Today the historic Palace is a major attraction to visitors from all over the world. Visitors can tour the elegant Palace rooms at their own pace. Guides are available in each room to answer questions, and guided tours can also be arranged.

The Palace offers a a restaurant and giftshop and is set in stunning formal gardens. The Scone Palace guidebook can be purchased at the giftshop and offers a fascinating insight into the history of the Palace.

Opening Times
Sunday 1 April 2007 to Wednesday 31 October 2007 daily 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. Last admission 5.00 pm. Grounds close at 6.00pm. Evening and winter tours by arrangement.
Further Information
Wheelchair users may alight at the Palace Gift Shop entrance, where a chairlift makes access into all of the State Rooms possible. There is also wheelchair access to the Restaurant and toilet facilities at the Estate Office at the rear of the Palace.
