Ayr Racecourse is located in the heart of Ayrshire and is Scotland's Premier Racecourse and home to the totesport Gold Cup Festival and the Coral Scottish Grand National. The racecourse offers a range of facilities to suit a wide and varied clientele. Families are particularly welcome at Ayr Racecourse.

Ayr Racecourse is a dual-purpose track, holding both National Hunt and Flat fixtures, and stages year round racing, with 27 days racing to choose from in 2007.

The six furlong Ayr Gold Cup, run at the Western Meeting in September is one of the most competitive sprints in the Flat Racing calendar, attracting large crowds from all over the country.
