Thought to be the oldest castle in Scotland, Kelburn Castle has long been an inspiration to adults and the vast array of attractions set in its grounds are a paradise for children.
Kelburn is famous for it's many unusual trees; the 1000 Year Old Yews and the Weeping Larch have been recently chosen by the Forestry Commission as two of the 100 most important 'heritage' trees in Scotland. In the Secret Forest you can explore the Giants Castle, cross the Crocodile Swamp, enter the Secret Grotto, beware the Gingerbread House, lose yourself in the Maze of the Green Man, conquer the Castle with No Entrance, leave the Woodman's Cottage by the secret passage, and enjoy the Chinese Garden.
Kelburn's new bird of prey centre has daily falconry displays included in the Centre's entrance fee. Kelburn Country Centre has one of the largest riding centres in the west of Scotland, open all year round, providing everything from Paddock Rides to Hacks, for both beginners and accomplished riders.
The Kelburn Glen is a magical place with many gorges and waterfalls and playing by waterfalls has proved an irresistible attraction for children and adults alike.
