Llandovery Castle

Llandovery Castle is situated in the heart of Llandovery in Carmarthenshire, located on a hilltop overlooking the River Bran. The construction of the castle in 1116 was by the Normans, however shortly after it partially attacked and destroyed by Welsh forces.

From the bottom of the castle visitors can really sense just how imposing the stronghold was in it heyday. The castle changed hands many times before it was under Edward I in 1277.
