Dramatically perched on a cliff top with breathtaking views, Culzean Castle offers perhaps the most exclusive accommodation available anywhere in Scotland.
In 1945, the Marquess of Ailsa gave Culzean Castle to The National Trust for Scotland, asking that the top floor be converted into an Apartment and given to General Eisenhower for his lifetime, as a gesture of thanks from the people of Scotland for commanding Scottish soldiers in the battle for Europe. Eisenhower visited the Castle several times, once as President, entertaining his family and friends here.
The Eisenhower Apartment is now a self-contained country house style hotel and provides a unique venue for private and corporate hospitality. Superbly furnished and extremely comfortable, the Apartment has 6 double/twin bedrooms that are available either for individual accommodation or for groups of up to 12. Guests share the round drawing room with stunning sea views and the elegant dining room, where the best of Scottish food is served.
The tariff, based on 2 adults sharing a room, includes afternoon tea, full Scottish breakfast and VAT. Special rates can be negotiated for 'Exclusive Use' of the entire Apartment for a family occassion, a group booking, or corporate hospitality. Please note, reservations are essential.
