Rushlea Homestead was the first house built in the township of Eden Valley by founder, William Lillecrapp, in 1866. In the early 1900's, some of the original Fernfield vineyards were constructed. Almost a century, and six generations later, the Lillecrapp's still run the property and use the traditional methods of wine making.
The first class wine grapes are picked off the vine by hand. The wine is also handmade and basket pressed. Wherever there is an alternative to using machines, it is taken. This allows for the unique flavour concentration that makes Fernfield wines so extraordinary. The shiraz is crushed by the traditional foot stomping technique! This ensures maximum flavour, colour and goodness.
The cellar door is open 7 days a week from 10am till 5pm. One of the Lillecrapp's will be assisting you in tasting and the best selection for you.
