Machrihanish Golf Club's 18 hole links course is set amidst the rising and falling sand dunes and is renowned as one of the best 100 golf courses outside the USA, and certainly one of the best links golf courses in Great Britain.
The course length is a generous 6,225 yards in total. Measuring 3,101 yards and featuring eight par 4's and a single par 3 on the inward nine, and the outward nine measuring 3,124 yards and featuring two par 5's just over 500 yards each and three par 3's.
The 18 hole course here features some of the most 'natural' golfing ground you will find anywhere in the world, with the course completely natural with no man made structures, mounds or hazards that weren't already in place.
Established in 1876, Machrihanish has an interesting history. The course has had several design alterations over the years, from well respected professional players including none other than the four times open championship winner Tom Morris of St. Andrews.
