Based Near Oban in the Firth of Lorn, using the purpose built "Porpoise II" - with nearly 900 horse power it is Britain's most powerful wildlife charter boat and operating on a 60mile licence enables Porpoise Diving to visit some of Scotlands finest dive sites from the Sound Of Jura to The Sound Of Mull, and also West to Dubh Artach, Iona and Colonsay.

Due to our range of dive sites and the sheltered tidal waters around Balvicar we can offer good diving for all levels of experience in all both summer and winter.

Dive sites include underwater pinnacles, drift dives, reefs and wrecks. The topography of the area is such that it allows shore-diving even in the most extreme conditions

Getting There
Approximately 8 miles South of Oban on the A816 Oban to Lochgilphead/Campbeltown road, TURN RIGHT onto the B844 signposted for Isle of Seil and the 'Atlantic Bridge'. Follow the B844 onto and along Seil Island, until you see a large bay with many boats on your left hand side. TURN LEFT immediately after the golf course and at the junction where the Balvicar store and post office is set back from the road on the left. Follow the road through Balvicar village, stay on the road as it turns sharp left but as it, almost immediately, turns sharp right, continue straight on, up the rise through the entrance to Balvicar pier.
