Providence is a 62-foot gaff rigged schooner which runs day and evening sails around the granite-bouldered, magnificent beaches of Magnetic Island. All cruises leave from our berth at Peppers Blue on Blue in Nelly Bay harbour on Magnetic island. Magnetic Island is a 25-minute ferry ride from Townsville in North Queensland.

Providence V can take up to 24 people for day sails and 15 overnight. Join us for a Lunch day sail or Afternoon day sail on one of the island's 23 secluded bays or a Sunset sail watching the sunset over Townsville.

Magnetic Island is located in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area and more than half of the island is national park. The island has 24-kilometres of walking tracks.

Further Information: Providence V is skippered and owned by Grant Lewis and his wife Lindsay who bought her in May 2005. Your Skipper, Grant Lewis owned his first crayboat at the age of 18 and has been into boats ever since. Grant is a Master 4 skipper, his passion is sailing and - as a true Tasmanian - wooden boats. Chill out and have an awesome time with our dedicated and experienced crew who will sail with you around Magnetic Island.
Special Features: Providence V caters for four day private charters. Why not team up with friends and family and charter us for a cruise with snorkelling, exploring on pristine islands - all fully catered. We also specialise in longer charters for schools, colleges, clubs with special activities around learning how to sail for beginning sailors who would like to be initiated into the magic of sailing. Accommodation for up to 15. Three hour learn to sail on a traditional sailing ship also available.
