The breads and yeast cakes from the Apex Bakery oven have become renowned well beyond the borders of the Barossa Valley. It's their incredible flavour and texture. The quality of the bakery products has been care of the wood-fired oven, built in 1924. The Apex oven has been working ever since and holds the record as Australia's longest continuously fired oven.
At Apex Bakery, the bakers make traditional basic bread with unbleached flour, compressed yeast, salt and water. People can taste the wheat and flour in the bread, as there are no sugars and emulsifiers used.
