Solva Woollen Mill

Opened in 1907 Solva Woollen Mill has built up a reputation for the manufacture of high quality carpets and floor rugs. These hard wearing reversible rugs are tightly woven from 100% pure wool carpet yarns.

The weaving shed contains 5 - 90" Dobcross looms and associated cone and bobbin winders. The warper occupies the old part of the factory, which once housed the spinning mule. Where once the carding engines were sited the building has been turned into a Tea Room, the old drive wheel from the water wheel and overhead line shafts can still be seen.

The factory, formally water powered, is open to visitors. A well stocked shop offers a variety of woollen goods for sale, as well as being an outlet for the Mill's own production.
