Picton Castle is a 13th century stone hall-keep set in 40 acres of extensive gardens, including woodlands and a walled garden. Founded by Sir John Wogan it is now managed by the Picton Castle Trust. There are fine entrance gates and a long carriage drive sweeping to the Castle forecourt. The rectangular hall-keep is flanked on the angles by drum towers and defending the entrance, is a twin-towered gatehouse.
The Walled Garden contains a large collection of culinary and medicinal herbs labelled with their herbal remedies. A maze has been planted recently and plants are available for sale in the Courtyard. Facilities include a picnic area, shop and restaurant.
