The Hume and Hovell Walking Track extends over 440km between Yass and Albury. The track provides tourists with an opportunity to rediscover the route of explorers Hamilton Hume and William Hovell on their expedition to Port Phillip in 1824.

The track passes through the major town centres of Yass, Wee Jasper and Albury. It also goes through nearby towns of Tumut, Talbingo and Tumbarumba. The Hume and Hovell Walking Track has 17 campsites, numerous boardwalks picnic facilities, and three main bridges over rivers.

Kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, foxes, birds of prey and emus are just a selection of the wildlife you can see, depending on the segment of the track you discover. The fishing enthusiasts can catch Murray cod, red fin, yellow belly, perch and freshwater lobster in Blowering Dam. The dam is also widely used by sailing, boating and water skiing fanatics.
