St Davids lifeboat station has been launching lifeboats for nearly 140 years. With its red roofed lifeboat station, St Justinians is certainly one of the most enchanting and iconic locations to be discovered along the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Spectacular settings don't come any more special than St Justinians, tucked in on the western edge of the St Davids Peninsula overlooking Ramsey Island. Some 360 lives have been saved by lifeboats based at St Davids and many other people assisted over the years. The crews have been presented with 24 awards for gallantry, the most recent in 2005.

History
In 1867 the RNLI awarded a silver medal to Thomas M Rees of St Davids for risking his own life in descending the cliffs on a dark and stormy night to rescue four men from the wrecked schooner 'Two Brothers'. It was following this incident and a number of similar wrecks at the time in which lives had been lost that the residents of St Davids appealed to the RNLI for a boat to be stationed at St Davids.
