Prossers on the Beach was established in 1986 as Hobart's first true waterfront restaurant. Surrounded by beautiful park lands, Prossers is only metres from the beach and enjoys magnificent views across the Derwent Estuary.

Under the guidance of Chef Stuart Prosser, Prossers on the Beach gained a reputation for top quality service and food featuring the finest produce Tasmania has to offer. This standard has been recognised in the form of three Golden Plate Awards and listing in Gourmet Traveller as one of the Top 100 Restaurants in Australia.

In 2002, 2003 and again in 2004, Prossers on the Beach was recognised by Restaurant and Catering Australia as the "Best Seafood Restaurant in Tasmania".

Details

Opening Times: Lunch Wednesday to Friday from Noon until 2pm & Dinner Monday to Saturday from 6pm.
Getting There: Travel south from Hobart City on Sandy Bay Road until you pass Wrest Point on your left. Continue on for about 1km until you pass Nutgrove Avenue on your left and take the next turn left, which is Beach Road (opposite Fisher Avenue). Drive through the park toward the River and take the first right, it's now about 200 metres to Prossers, and the car park which is visible on the left.
