"Waverley Estate Aged Wines" was established in 1989 with an existing vineyard dating back to 1971. Extra plantings over the ensuing years have expanded the vineyard, currently boasting 40 acres of Semillon, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Since 1989 winemaker Gary Reed, who has a deep passion for excellence, has superbly crafted the wines. Combining and blending this passion with sound viticultural practices, he has continually produced distinguished Hunter wines made from grapes grown on the Estate.

From the first vintage in 1989 the wines were placed in storage for 10 years and allowed to age within a temperature-controlled environment. Upon completion of the building and cellar door, the wines were released for the first time in March 1999. This has placed Waverley Estate in a very unique position within the market place, as historically, Waverley are the only Aged Wine Specialists in the Hunter Valley and it is believed throughout Australia.
