Built in 1860 and sitting at the headland of a vast area of coastline, forestry, lochs and hills on the Northern tip of the Isle of Mull near Tobermory, Glengorm Castle provides very special accommodation. The interior is very warm and comforting. Relaxing by the log fires watching the sunset in the library is the perfect way to spend an evening.
The walled garden below Glengorm Castle has been run as a market garden for the last 30 years, and is renowned locally and further afield for the quality and variety of its produce. The garden supplies fresh vegetables to many of the hotels, restaurants and shops on Mull as well as the Glengorm Coffee Shop.
The bedrooms are very spacious, furnished to a high standard with comfortable seating area and armchairs, many have large 4 poster beds and the original cast iron, deep Victorian baths. All have spectacular views.
The castle has many fine walks surrounding it, ranging from 1 ½ hour to 3 hours or, for the less ambitious, a short walk to the gardens and nursery. A track leads past the castle to some standing stones and the ruins of Dun Ara Fort to the west.
