Hartlepool's Maritime Experience makes a fantastic day out. This attraction is an authentic re-creation of an 18th Century naval seaport and has something for all ages.

There's plenty to do, including exploring the quayside shops and houses, viewing the short film Pressganged (about two brothers forced into His Majesty's Navy) and Fighting Ships which is a great audio / visual display, giving you a feel for what life was like on board a warship.

Then you can actually take a look around the genuine article. HMS Trincomalee is the oldest warship afloat in Europe. She was built in 1817 in Bombay, India and now is a fantastic attraction.

HMS Trincomalee is licensed for weddings and make your big day truly unique. Receptions are held in the two large function rooms and includes full catering service from Cleveland Caterers. Various rooms are also available for meetings, parties, team building, seminars and much more.
