Over 300 years old, Ammonite Lodge Guest House offers very high levels of comfort and cleanliness with a sumptuous traditional English breakfast. Situated on the edge of the shopping area of Chard and only a short stroll to a number of fine town centre restaurants, it is an ideal resting place for tourists and businessmen alike.

The guest lounge overlooks the pretty, south facing, cottage garden where guests can sit in comfort and enjoy the sun or later in the day sip a glass of wine and watch the water cascading into the illuminated fish pond along with friends or family.

All the bedrooms are equipped with colour TV, hair dryers, complimentary tea and coffee facilities with biscuits, soft fluffy towels and all rooms are centrally heated.

There is also a trouser press and ironing facilities.

Ammonite Lodge Guest House also offer guests the opportunity to partake of a Somerset cream tea at the excellent price of £3.50 per head. This can be ordered at time of booking to be served upon arrival or at some other time during the stay.

The house is opposite Chard museum which houses the exhibits of John Stringfellow (inventor of powered flight) and James Gillingham (developed prosthetic limbs). The town is a short drive away from the Jurassic Coast at Lyme Bay and in all is close to over 50 local attractions to suit all ages. Forde Abbey and Gardens is virtually on the doorstep and within in a short drive are many National Trust properties. There is an abundance of children's entertainments which include the nearby Pecorama Gardens which houses a multitude of indoor and outdoor things for children to do. For the enthusiast The Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton offers an opportunity to follow the history of that arm of the services and to board and view the French prototype of Concorde.
