The River House is a quaint family run backpackers situated opposite the world famous Millenium Stadium and River Taff in the centre of Cardiff.

Opened in August 2007, we aee the most central backpackers in Cardiff with the central train and bus station being just 4 mins walk away. Everything the heart of the city has to offer is on our doorstep. We completely refurbished the house before opening so everything is brand spanking new. We have 24hr reception and no curfew, free use of lockers and free linen, lovely fully equipped communal kitchen and dining room, lounge with 42' LCD TV with SKY and internet station, free yummy breakfast, free WIFI and an attractive decked garden with BBQ area. We aim to show people that there is no need to rough it in a dingy hostel - we just upped the standard!

Getting There: 5 minates walk to the Millenium Stadium and Cardiff Castle. If you're coming from the train and bus stations we are closer than any other backpackers. From the central train and bus stations: Turn left onto Wood Street and straight on over the Wood Street Bridge. Take an immediate right onto Fitzhamon Embankment. We are the last house on the left at the end of Fitzhamon Embankment. Easy - and just 4mins walk! We directly face the River Taff and Millenium Stadium. THE Cardiff central backpackers!

The only bad thing about my stay at The Riverhouse was that I couldn't stay longer was only there for a weekend - this is honestly the plushest backpackers I've stayed in and one of the friendliest! It is really great value for money ... Read More
