The Conwy R.S.P.B reserve is a purpose built centre that was built following the construction of the Conwy road tunnel to provide a safe haven for waders at high tide throughout the year. It has now become the most important site for birdwatchers on the North Wales coast, as lapwings, sedge warblers, reed warblers and water rail come to breed on the wetlands during the spring and summer.
The purpose-built centre stocks a wide range of books, gifts, binoculars and bird food. The Waterside Coffee Shop overlooks a lagoon. A number of footpaths take you round a series of lagoons, through flower-filled meadows and back along beside the estuary. Observation hides allow you to watch the birds on the open water without fear of disturbing them.
Access is off the A55, Deganwy exit, look for the brown signs.
