The Queensland Health Breast Screen Queensland Program is a population-based, public health program that offers free breast cancer screening and follow-up assessment services for women aged 50 to 69 years. Women aged 40 to 49 years and 70 years and older can also attend if they choose.
The Program is made available to women through a network of local services throughout Queensland including 11 fixed site screening and assessment services, 15 satellite services, five relocatable services and three mobile services that offer screening at over 240 locations throughout Queensland.
It is the state component of the national breast cancer-screening program, Breast Screen Australia. Operates in accordance with national standards and guidelines.
