The annual Mount Barker Celebration of Wildflowers will be held from Saturday 1 September to Friday 31st October, 2008, at the scenic botanical gardens of Banksia Farm. Banksia farm is an eleven acre arboretum with all seventy eight Banksia species, most of the ninety-eight dryandra species and many other showy natives. The gardens abound with a recorded forty-five bird species.
Celebration of Wildflowers will feature named native orchid displays, photographic displays, fine botanical artworks and glorious planted roadside displays of everlasting daisies, books, crafts, food and beverages. Visitors can also take scenic bushwalks with named species and obtain free advice and maps of the wildflower and orchid hotspots of the districts.
So come down and experience the beauty of the wildflowers in Mount Barker in 2008!
