The Royal Darwin Show is the premier event on the Top End community calendar, where city and country come together for three days of competition, entertainment and displays of primary industry, horticulture, art, craft, cooking and photography.
The official opening is on the Friday, followed by a grand parade of livestock and machinery. Visitors can enjoy equestrian events, sideshow rides, varied live entertainment and a wide assortment of food and drink stalls that reflect the multicultural nature of Darwin.
Over 240 stalls display a wide variety of products and information and the animal nursery is extremely popular. Horses feature throughout from dressage and show jumping to working stock horses and polocrosse. The Royal Darwin Show closes with a spectacular fireworks finale.
This year's event marks the 60th anniversary of the Royal Darwin Show, and will be held from the 21st to 23rd July 2011.
