- Local Area
- Hawker, only a 4 hour drive from Adelaide, is the Hub of the Flinders Ranges. Many day trips start here, including the Flinders Ranges National Park, Wilpena Pound or the historic town of Blinman of pastoral & mining heritage, across to Parachilna & the famous Prairie Hotel, & home again. Guests also enjoy walking to look-out points close to Windana cottages, and visiting the town of Hawker to view the impressive Wilpena Panorama, in Jeff Morgan's Gallery. A range of eating out opportunities are available in Hawker, including the Hawker Hotel and the Old Ghan Resaurant offering evening meals with a take-away option. Good coffee and snacks are available in most shops.

- Proceed North towards Hawker until about 2km from township. Turn right into West End Flat Road, then right again about 100 m into Windana driveway. Drive 150m to proprietors house, follow track 50m around the big shed on the left, then follow track 100m to creek crossing on the right and proceed 100m to the cottages.
