The Margaret Timpson Town Park features a system of paths making it a popular pedestrian thoroughfare to the nearby offices, apartments, Belconnen Mall and Belconnen Library. It has been planted with native and exotic trees and shrubs as well as mature elms and oaks. Features include a sculpture at the northwestern entrance of the park, pergolas with climbing plants, 6 mature date palms at its centre and two grass pyramids.

Lake Ginninderra is a popular for swimming, canoeing, sailing and fishing. There is a boat ramp on both sides of the lake and toilets, barbeques and picnic tables on the north western side at Macdermott Place.

Other parks in the Northern areas include Haig Park with Public toilets, fitness track, parking areas and BBQ's. John Knight Memorial Park has Picnic areas, public toilets, fitness trails. Umbagong District park is great for kids with Picnic areas, BBQ's, cycle paths, adventure playground equipment including a flying fox. Also Yerrabi Pond District Park is very popular offering adventure playground - including Giant Tarzan Swing, double/tandem flying fox, Burmese bridge and play equipment, skateboard area, BBQ's picnic areas, public toilets and artworks.
