Getting to the Hunter Valley has never been easier. There is a myriad of tours and coach options and driving from Sydney is simple. BY CAR: From the south - Maitland and the Hunter River Country is approximately two hours from Sydney City Centre. Go north on the F3 freeway and New England Highway (15). To get to the Wine Country cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge heading North and follow signs to Newcastle and North Coast. This will lead you to the Pacific Highway. Follow the Pacific Highway until you reach the National Highway 1 Freeway entrance at Wahroonga. (From Harbour Bridge to National Highway 1 Freeway entrance approx 30 minutes depending on traffic). Take the National Highway 1 Freeway north towards Newcastle. From the North - Travel along the Pacific Hwy (1) to Hexham and then the New England Hwy (15) if coming from Brisbane or the coast. From Brisbane and other inland North locations travel along the New England Hwy (15). BY RAIL: Country Link has four XPT services daily from and to Sydney stopping at Maitland Railway Station.
