BY CAR: The main access from Sydney is via the F3 Freeway. The journey takes approximately two hours. Take the Newcastle exit and this will take you all the way into the CBD. Other major routes are the coastal Pacific Highway and the inland New England Highway from Brisbane. The Golden Highway provides easy access from Western NSW.

BY COACH: Newcastle is serviced by coach companies throughout Australia. Connections to and from various locations are provided on a regular basis.

BY PLANE: Newcastle Airport (Williamtown) is the major regional airport and is located 30 minutes from Newcastle city centre. The airport is served by QantasLink and has daily flights to Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Melbourne as well as some regional NSW centres. Aeropelican, located at Belmont Airport (30 minutes south of Newcastle city centre) provides return commuter flights daily to Sydney.

BY RAIL: Newcastle is part of the City Rail network centred on Sydney. There are frequent return services daily. Fast Countrylink trains connect Newcastle to Sydney, Brisbane and other country centres. See City Rail web site for more details.
