Oolambeyan was once famous for its merino stud, and these days it offers an insight into the pastoral history of the region. The homestead is surrounded by gardens and overlooks the surrounding woodlands and open grassland plains.

The grasslands are home to threatened birds such as the bush stone curlew, superb parrot and plains-wanderer, as well as many other interesting animals and plants.

Wander around the homestead and gardens, shearing shed, ram sheds and other historic buildings, and watch the woodland birds and kangaroos.
