Rotary Lookout overlooks the picturesque King George Sound. This elevated site allows uninterrupted views of the Sound which is frequented by both humpback and southern right whales during the season (May to November). Southern rights are often seen close to the rocky shoreline directly below the lookout.

The Lookout is one of the key whale watching sites included in the 'Ocean Giants Lookout Kit', an initiative of the Western Australian Tourism Commission in conjunction with the Department of Conservation and Land Management. It gives visitors an opportunity to make a contribution to the environment by recording their sightings of whales along the Albany coastline.
