Athletes from around the globe travelled to Australia in September and October 2000 to compete in the Summer Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games. Homebush Bay was also the site for the Olympic Games Village, which housed the athlete and officials.
Visitors can enjoy a tour of the site. The tours commence at the Homebush Bay Information Centre, which is open daily and features up-to-date information about the development of facilities for the Sydney 2000 Games, and beyond.
The Sydney 2000 Olympic Games was dubbed the "Green Games" due to Olympic Coordination Authorities, energy and water conservation plan, protection of the plants & animals on the Homebush Bay site, such as the Green & Golden Bell Frog the development of the 1st solar powered athlete village.
